One of the reasons so many people choose ceramic tiles for the floors in their Harbourfront condos is that tile is easier to get clean than carpeting and other types of flooring. However, you may still have to contend with sticky residues, slippery spots, dullness, and other issues resulting from improper floor cleaning if you don't know what you're doing. This article can give you some tips and tricks that will help you have a shiner, cleaner ceramic tile floor.

The first thing you need to do before you clean a ceramic tile floor is figure out whether the tiles are glazed or unglazed. Glazed tiles are coated with a protective film that makes them shiny and impervious to fluids, so if you find that wet spills are sinking into the tiles in your Oshawa homes, they're unglazed. Unglazed tiles may give you more of a natural look, but they're also porous and hard to clean, so you should have them glazed as soon as possible. If glazing is not an option, avoid cleaning the floors with acids, as they will eat away at your floor.

Once a ceramic tile floor has been glazed, it becomes almost impervious to stains and chips. You can, however, damage your floor by cleaning it if you're not careful. Avoid using abrasive cleaners such as creams or powders as this will scratch away the glaze and expose the tile underneath to spills. The best way to clean Vaughan homes with ceramic tile floors is to wet mop using an all purpose cleaner like Pine Sol or Mr. Clean. To avoid leaving streaks as it dries, use a shammy or soft mop to dry the floor afterward.

The normal activity in your Scarborough homes, such as walking over the tile floors, dropping things onto the floor, dragging chairs across it, and even cleaning the floor can all scratch the glaze on your tiles, making the floor look dull. To make your floors look bright and shiny once again, you'll need to apply wax. Commercial floor waxes and car waxes both work well. Rub the wax into the tiles and wait ten minutes before buffing out, either by hand or with a floor polisher.

Monthly waxing will build up a significant amount of wax on the floors of your Brownsville, TX townhouses. To keep it from building up too much and creating a layer you can actually sink into, you'll want to strip the floors of wax about once per year. Wax stripper can be found in the cleaning aisle. Once applied, make sure to rinse it away so that the leftover residue doesn't damage the floor underneath.
